About The Director, Monica Advani
Global Montessori School of Westwood was founded in October of 2005 by Monica and Indru Advani.
Monica has been a Montessori teacher since September 1999. She completed her Montessori certification from the Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Evanston, IL.
Monica graduated from the University of Rajsthan, India with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Philosophy, Political Science and Indian (Hindi) Literature. Prior to her career in the educational field, she was a Marketing/ Statistical Analyst in a large Chicago based corporation. She also worked for several years as a successful real estate agent. It was at this time that she was searching for a career that was more fulfilling. She was introduced to the Montessori education and was impressed by the philosophy. Her vision for a school is to provide children with a respectful and nurturing environment which promotes the love of learning and emphasizes on character education.
Indru Advani graduated from Ahmedabad, India with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received his MBA from Rosary College, Chicago and his Masters in Computer Science from DePaul University, Chicago. For the past several years he owned a consulting company in Chicago.
